Unity Tutorial 02 A new semester means learning more in Unity. In the first semester, I was not a big fan of Unity at the start but by the end of it I really enjoyed it.  I am excited to learn more skills. I choose to do the Unity create with code as I feel like I would enjoy it more. I did three tutorials for this week. They were : Lesson 1.1 Start your 3D Engines  Lesson 1.2 Pedal to the Metal  Lesson 1.3 High-Speed Chase  I found this tutorials very fun. Although it was challenging at the start as I had to get used to everything again in Unity but I got the hang of it very quickly again and enjoyed doing them. I prefer these tutorials over last semesters are they are a bit more fun. My favourite tutorial was the second one 'Pedal to the Metal'. Reading 2 Hello there, after a very good break I am back with the blogs for semester 2. This semester we are creating our own book. I had to pick 2 subtopics within a chapter. I choose chapter 11: creating the user experience, the 2 subtopics I have chosen are ' Input Devices' and 'Navigation Mechanisms'. I hope I am doing this right as I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what exactly I have to do, so I am praying that I am doing this right. I did research by googling these questions: - How do you create good user experience? -What is game input devices? - What are some examples of game navigation mechanisms? -What are some examples for user experience input devices? I found out a lot of important information when I asked these questions and feel like I have gained a lot of knowledge on my topics and have a better understanding of them. Time Management I learnt about time management for this blog. I read a few articles about time management. The first one I read was  4 Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination  by Peter Banerjea. This was my favourite read because I sometimes feel like I procrastinate a lot when it comes to my college work. This article helped me learn about ways to overcome procrastinating things. I liked the question asked that was "what will go wrong if I don't do it now?", I liked this question because it makes you think about why you shouldn't do it now to try stop you from leaving things for another times.  The other article I read was  3 Steps to Recapture Time  by Joynicole Martinez. It's basically helping you to put off leaving everything for other days. Overall, the articles helped me learn about how to prevent procrastinating and how to manage my time much more. Technology Tools I learned about the different types of technology tools that I will be using throughout the semester. The tools include Blogging, Bookmarking, Image Editing and Graphics Creation. After reading about the type of tools, I am looking forward to learn more about computers, because I'm very interested in computers and enjoy learning more about them. I'm familiar with bookmarking and image editing, and I'm now getting more and more familiar with it the more I do it. I'm enjoy blogging a lot and can't wait for people to read mine and also for me to read theirs. I enjoy this type of online environment because you can do your work as quick as you want and can really get ahead of the work. Assignments My first impression on the extra credit assignments were that some stuck out to me a lot. One that stood out to me was the 'Growth Mindset' one. After learning a good bit about growth mindset during the week, I am really interested to see what else I can learn about it.Also the ''Tech Tasks' stood out to me. I really liked the sounds of learning more web-based technology. This is unlike anything we've done in other modules. The fact that you could have missed work but you can use extra credit to make up for it is very good, because normally if you miss your in other modules , theres normally no way you can make up for it, so I really like the extra credit that we're able to gain. Also, you can also use extra credits to get ahead and finish work earlier which is a benefit if some want to get the work out of the way. A meme of a cat being 'amused' by extra credit. Growth Mindset Today I learned about a female called 'Carol Dweck'. I've never heard of her before today, but I am glad I have heard of her now. I listened to her TED Talk on growth mindset. I've never really thought into growth mindset before. After looking into it more in detail, I have realised that I also tend to avoid difficult situations or problems that I feel like I wouldn't be able to achieve without even challenging them. I don't normally enjoy listening to TED Talks because I tend to get bored of what the speaker is talking about but for a change I really enjoyed listening to Carol talk about growth mindset. She put things into a different perspective than I've ever thought about myself. Personally, after listening and learning more about growth mindset, the more I realised I seem to be pushed into the fixed mindset more than the growth mindset. Who Is Aaron Hogan? My name is Aaron Hogan. I was born on the 1st of March,2000, which makes me 19 years old. I live in Clonsilla in Dublin 15. I went to primary school in St.Mochtas and went to secondary school in Castleknock Community College. I am currently in ITB in Blanchardstown studying Creative Digital Media, I am in year 2. I really enjoy the course and have found out new skills that i never thought I'd be able to do. First year was enjoyable and I made a good few new friends. My favourite module was Web Development as I found it interesting how much stuff goes on behind closed doors to make a website, and i also loved the feeling when you created your own website. Over the summer, I went to Portugal with my group of friends. It was the best holiday ever!
